COVID-19 / Visa & residence permits

Updated : April 28th - 8.30am

Residence permits & recepisses

Following the various decisions taken by the French President and the government, the CMI Rennes remains closed to the public.
The prefecture services have also been closed to the public since Monday, March 16th.
All appointments are therefore canceled until further notice.

However, the CMI Rennes team remains available to answer your questions by email, use this contact form and send us any document necessary to process your request (scan or photo of your récépissé, visa, CPAM certificate...).

Please note that the Ministère de l'Intérieur (Home Office) has decided to extend the validity of residence permits and récépissés which would expire between March 16th and May 15th by 6 months.
Do not hesitate to write to us if you do not understand this information.

The European Union and Schengen area borders are closed for a minimum of 30 days.
These measures might soon change and the Ministère de l'Intérieur recommends that people benefiting from this three-month extension not to leave French territory.

Visa extension & summer recepisses

Like all services at the CMI, the extension of visas for the summer cannot be programmed with precision, but as soon as we can, we will communicate all the necessary information.

Other procedures (CPAM, CAF, TAXES ...)

Regarding CAF or CPAM we can continue to support you remotely, but we do not know precisely how these services work at the moment and whether our contacts in these administrations will be available.

Travel & airplane tickets

If you have a plane ticket to go to a abroad, ask the airline and / or airports for flight cancellations and reimbursement procedures.
That said, we recommend to stay at home.

Resumption of activity

For the moment no date can be given for the resumption of CMI activities (residence permits appointments, cultural agenda, welcome desk), we therefore recommend that you follow our news on the website and our Facebook page where we will keep you informed.

Take care and be safe!
